Last week AWS didn’t have a relaxing Sunday, AWS status page announced the platform was suffering from degraded performance in its main availability zone while the AWS was experiencing the issues other sites were also hit with performance issues.
The applications/services deployed in the US-EAST-1 faced the issue and a lot of internet companies were hit. In this post, we will see how we can have a DR plan for your application deployed in AWS
There are various applications and services AWS provides to the customers and not all the services may required to have business continuity and many of the services are configuration and many have persistence data in them.
Nimesa supports the integration with various services like AWS EC2, RDS, Aurora, Application Load Balancers, VPCs and S3 and a lot of services integration is in the roadmap.
If the business configured a DR plan in the Nimesa application policy which enables the persistent data to copy from US_EAST_1 to near DR region( maybe US-EAST-2) and one copy in the another far DR region ( US-WEST-1 ), during the outage in once click Nimesa will failover all the application from the US-EAST-1 to any of the DR regions
Failover of the Application groups from one region to another
In the one-click on the “Failover” button deploys the standalone application or the application load balancer with the RDS Databases to the selection region along with the VPC, Subnet and Security group.
